I number among those residents of Hobart and staff members who are excited by possibilities that will open up as our campus changes over the next 10 years. What changes might there be in the role of our 100-hectare Sandy Bay campus and how might we collaborate with others to contribute to Hobart’s city centre? Importantly, my excitement is grounded in those possibilities that are ‘both-and’, rather than ‘either-or’.
This transformational change has my support for several reasons – none of them watertight or without flaw – but all of them worth airing and considering. Those reasons can best be framed in relation to the University’s five values
