Abstract

The research output is a commercial recording available in both digital and physical formats (CD), comprised of seven original compositions. The approach documented in the output contains a unique composition and group language, and a new approach to interpreting scientific data through artistic practice. Approaches include the use of oyster shell topography to generate melodic contour, and the spectral analysis of scientific research sound sources utilised to generate harmonic and melodic content, including spectral composition and graphic score representation to interpreting scientific data. The research output documents a unique compositional voice and, through a unique approach to multidisciplinary arts practice, gave rise to innovations in composition, guitar performance practice and multidisciplinary arts practice.
