Singapore: creating an ever-changing place product
In 1819, Thomas Stamford Raffles declared Singapore a British colony, the ramifications of which are still felt today. In 2019, Singapore will celebrate this bicentenary, officially recognising the ‘founding’ of Singapore by Raffles. Over the decades, though no longer a British colony, Singapore has built on its colonial legacy to stay relevant in the global place economy
