Two composite samples s, East Ridge Composite (ER) and Black Hill Composite (BH), separated to four different size fraction each (P80: +75 um; 75-38 um, 38-20 um, -20 um) were sent to CODES Analytical Laboratories for mounting and analysis to determine quantitative mineralogy with a focus on Zn- and Pb-bearing minerals. Eight ∼200g bags of sample were received. A representative split of each sample was used to measure particle size distributions in each fraction; another split was mixed with epoxy resin and placed into a 2.5 cm mount (Fig. 1). Upon hardening, samples were sectioned to expose coarse-fine profile, remounted in epoxy, and polished for analysis. The mounted samples were analysed by SEM to determine mineral proportions and to perform Mineral Liberation Analysis for Pb- and Zn-rich minerals. Separate splits of each fraction were analysed by XRD.
