Abstract

Drawing on the fi ndings from an Irish study on practice learning undertaken with social work students, the authors explore the potential of relationship-based practice, with its focus on the interplay of emotional, rational and unconscious elements of human behaviour and relationships, in addressing enduring challenges in practice teaching and learning.
