Abstract

We start the discussion of business strategies by understanding the external environment of the business. Environmental factors, over which businesses have little control, profoundly influence the performance of the businesses and determine the success or failure of a particular business strategy. The factors that have a high impact are the key drivers that cause an industry to develop. These typically include political and regulatory factors, economic factors, socio-cultural factors and technological factors.
