The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of prblem-based learning on the achievement in Mathematic course. PBL is a learning method based on constructivist theory and it is known to be effective in terms of affective attributions such as academic success attitude and motivation. The study was designed in the realm of mixed split-plot experimental method (2X2). The data collection instrument was the achievement test prepared by the researcher. The mathematical achievement of the students was evaluated in two different levels. The first level demonstrates Problem - Based Learning method., whereas the second level stands for the lecture method. Two-way ANOVA was used for repeating measures on one factor in order to analyze the data. As a result, the achievement levels of each student group who was exposed to two different teaching methods were found out to be different after the experiment. However, the difference was not significant.
