Abstract
Mahathir Mohamad’s place in Asian history is assured. Not only has he had the
distinction of being the longest serving Malaysian prime minister (1981–2003), he has
just been re-elected as prime minister of his country on 9 May 2018, after being in
retirement for 15 years. He is the world’s oldest elected leader at 92 years old.
