Abstract
Since its creation, the Multisyringe Flow Injection Analysis (MSFIA) technique has proved to be a highly useful tool for the automation of sample pretreatment procedures prior to spectroscopic detection (UV-vis spectrophotometry, fluorescence, or chemiluminescence). This article reviews the recent applications of the MSFIA technique and how they have contributed to the Green Analytical Chemistry field. These contributions are mainly based on the development of multicommutated analytical methodologies for the minimization of the consumption of reagents, automation and miniaturization of solid phase extraction, reagent immobilization, or in the automation and miniaturization of the required pretreatments prior to separation techniques.
