Abstract
This report outlines research into tourist use of the Wineglass Bay Track Car Park using data
collected during the first stage of the University of Tasmania’s Tourist Tracking Project (from the
2016 sample of 472 tourists in Tasmania). Of the 472 tourists tracked across Tasmania, 157 were
identified in the Wineglass Bay Track Car Park at some stage during their trip. This assessment
examined how these tourists used the Wineglass Bay Track Car Park in the Freycinet National Park
on Tasmania’s east coast with a specific focus on car park utilisation during peak hours (11am to
2pm). In addition, it also examined general park use and overnight locations selected by tourists that
used the car park.
