More than 350 Primary school kids descended on the Makers Workshop in Burnie this morning for an event called Kids for Kids: Donít Mess with Burnie. Teachers, students, academics, and volunteers led the kids off on a whole bunch of expeditions aimed at understanding the environmental sustainability of their local environment. There were trips to the tip, searching for micro-plastics on the beach, a chat about feral cats. There was science, Aboriginal culture and more. Rick Eaves went along to learn more about the world immediately outside of the ABCís Burnie office.
