Abstract
As part of the River Derwent Heavy Metals Project, Davies teamed up with MoMa-MONA to write and present an original poem as a call to science to turn rejection to renewal for the Derwent. The recital, with references to Edgar Allan Poe, Ray Bradbury and David Bowie, was accompanied by a costumed nymph and her sea king ‘calling’ in an aria to each other over the water as they made their way along the shore to the Heavy Metal Life Raft to then return to the sea. At MONA’s request the poem has been published on the MoMa instagram and Facebook.
