Abstract

Florian Schui presents his work on the systems of rebellion, resistance and public debate that developed in Prussia’s urban centres under Frederick II and his successors. Schui’s interests lay in the dynamics of political thought, political rule, and fiscal dynamics. The work under review here digs beneath a number of the persistent assumptions regarding Prussia, its regime and civil resistance.
