Abstract
Histories of the two major British universities, Oxford and Cambridge – two of the world-leading
universities – have had a particularly interesting evolution, not least due to the changing nature
of historical study to date. Various incarnations of the history of the University of Oxford in
particular have sought to investigate the long and multi-faceted history of the institution from all
possible angles.
