Editor’s Note

We begin this edition of AJE with a Call for Papers on topics to do with Light, or Soil, both of which are this year’s subjects for international attention. 2015 is UNESCO’s International Year of Light, marking the centenary of Einstein’s theory of General Relativity, or E=mc2 which (according to Scientific American) is the most famous equation in the world.
