In recent years, as an innovative technology, Radio frequency identification (RFID) promises to precisely identify objects at low cost and without line of sight. This ability of RFID creates new and emerging opportunities for RFID applications to become an integral part of railway station services. This paper provides a mobile RFID framework architecture for mobile devices that aims to facilitate the development process of embedded RFID applications and the integration process of railway station applications and EPC Network instances. In this way, Humans, devices and things at railway station are both the content providers and users of these mobile services. We explore ID-Services, a flexible RFID middleware architecture for mobile, which includes three layers (ID Device layer, Proxy object layer and high level interface) to address the specific issues of mobile RFID-enabled applications. The ID-Services middleware is basically platform-neutral and can be used for any type of mobile computing device. This paper also proposes three extended functions by implementing mobile RFID approach, which includes the maintenance optimization, monitoring the temperature of the surface of the rail and a passenger-oriented system.
