A low-cost, long-life, drifting sensor for environmental monitoring of rivers and estuaries

Mobile sensors provide important spatial information for environmental monitoring, but current solutions are not scalable due to cost, safety, and efficiency concerns. This paper describes a drifting, depth profiling platform in development with real-time data streaming and visualisation at a material cost of around US$300.
