Abstract

This study aimed to investigate antibiotics resistance pattern and phenotyping of Aeromonas species isolated from different aquatic sources in Melaka, Malaysia. A total of 53 Aeromonas species were isolated from the following sources: sediment (n=13), bivalve (n=10), sea cucumber (n=16) and sea water (n=14) and resistance to 12 antibiotics Tetracycline (30μg), Kanamycin (30μg), Oxytetracycline (30μg), Ampicillin (10μg), Streptomycin (10μg), Gentamicin (10μg), Sulphamethoxazole (25μg), Nalixidic acid (30μg), Trimethoprim (1.25μg), Novobiocin (5μg), Penicilin (10μg)
