Abstract

This project, ‘A focus on student retention' aims to benchmark student experience and student performance data to support policy development and process frameworks to assure standards.

Private providers, drawn from the Council of Private Higher Education (COPHE) and the Higher Education Private Provider Quality Network (HEPP-QN), have been invited to participate in a national benchmarking project to compare data such as the Student Experience Survey (SES), student performance data (progression, retention and completion rates) to develop governance strategies around retention.

Using the ACODE (2014) benchmarking methodology, the national project will include a peer review workshop identifying areas of good practice, areas for further development and areas for sharing to improve student experience with an aim of increasing retention.
