Abstract
This paper examines an experiential learning module combining principles of
architectural design and construction technology. The module was introduced this
semester for first year architecture students in the introductory architectural construction
technology course. Students worked in teams to design, document and physically
construct a simple pavilion from a limited range of affordable and recyclable materials.
