Abstract
The Lihir gold deposit contains seven, large,
composite volcanic-hydrothermal breccia bodies that are
intimately associated with deposit-scale structures. There
is a strong spatial relationship between the margins of the
volcanic-hydrothermal breccia bodies and epithermal
mineralization in Coastal and Kapit ore zones and the
Kapit NE prospect. The volcanic-hydrothermal breccias
have a late-mineralization timing.
