Hydrodynamic analysis and performance of a single fixed circular OWC device

OWC devices can be installed close to shore to facilitate energy transportation and maintenance or can be installed further out in places with higher available wave energy. In the latest large structure can be necessary for buoyancy and survival issues but most of the previous theoretical studies did not fully investigate the effect of wall thickness in the hydrodynamic behaviour of the WEC. The current study investigates the hydrodynamic properties of a fixed cylindrical OWC device with finite wall thickness in an open-sea environment. Specific attention is given in the effect of the structural properties, radius, draught and wall-thickness on the energetic behaviour of the OWC device.
