Abstract
The nucleation of CaCO3 crystals from metastable solutions under Langmuir monolayers has been shown to be enhanced in the order, docosanoate > octadecylamine > octadecanol > control. Crystals nucleated under monolayers containing charged headgroups were preferentially oriented.
