Exploding myths about dietary fibre in military operational ration packs

Total dietary fibre (TDF) provided by One Man ration packs used by the Australian military was estimated from summing TDF assays of some key components and recipe-weighted TDF contributions of ingredients for the remaining components. The 23-24g mean TDF in these ration packs compares favourably with current dietary recommendations and operational requirements.
