Abstract
Examples of such interactions are given, including ribulose 1,5-diphosphate carboxylase in which the small subunit, encoded in nuclear genes and synthesized by cytoplasmic ribosomes, enters the chloroplast to combine with the large subunit produced on chloroplast ribosomes from a gene in the chloroplast genome.
