Abstract
Dr Mary-Anne Lea is a marine biologist researching the endangered Steller Sea Lions in South East Alaska.
A graduate from Sydney University, Dr Lea's interest in sea mammals began at Macquarie Island where she studied elephant seal ecology. In 1998 she moved to France to study the Antarctic fur seals, before taking up her current role at the Marine Mammal Research Unit at the University of Columbia.
Dr Lea spends most of her time at-sea, observing the Steller Sea Lions and spends her downtime at her home in Vancouver.
